There is something deeply calming about making things with your own hands 🤍

For me, designing lamps is more than creating an object. It is the feeling of taking an idea from my mind and slowly turning it into something real. Something I can touch, shape, test, adjust and finally build.

I love that moment when the light turns on and suddenly the whole room feels different.

There is something very human about making things by hand. Psychologically, creating with our hands can bring us into the present moment. It slows the mind down. It gives our thoughts somewhere to go. It connects imagination with the body.

Maybe that is why I love lighting so much. Light itself is emotional. It can make us feel safe, calm, inspired or at home. And when I build a lamp, I am not only thinking about how it looks. I am thinking about how it will make someone feel.

That is the part I love most.

Creating something real.
Creating something warm.
Creating something that changes the atmosphere of a space.

I have always loved the moment when light changes a surface.

A plain wall can feel quiet, almost unnoticed. But when the right lamp is placed there, everything shifts. Texture becomes visible. Shadows begin to move. The room suddenly has depth, warmth and a feeling of intention.

Manchmal glaube ich, dass wir uns unser eigenes kleines Paradies erschaffen müssen. Schritt für Schritt, Detail für Detail. 🌿✨

Meine Hängelampe ist genau aus diesem Gedanken entstanden: ein selbstgemachtes Kunstwerk, das täglich daran erinnert, dass wir unsere Träume selbst gestalten können.

Ich finde: nein.

Klar, viele setzen auf Deckenlampen mit voller Helligkeit – einfach, praktisch, gewohnt.
Aber ist das wirklich gemütlich?

Mit SHAYA wollte ich etwas anderes schaffen.
Ein Licht, das sich zurücknimmt.
Das den Raum umarmt, statt ihn zu überstrahlen.
Still, weich, warm.

SHAYA hängt, aber sie drängt sich nicht auf.
Sie ist da – und schafft Atmosphäre.
Ein Gefühl von Ankommen, Ruhe, Zuhause.

Denn manchmal ist das schönste Licht das, das leise leuchtet.
